Crossville Man Charged with Rape Locally
(2014-03-11) A Crossville man has been charged with rape in case involving
a runaway juvenile from Cumberland
County that was found in
a local motel.
Ray Pugh, 48, of Crossville was arrested last week in Cumberland
County following a local investigation
into allegation he had inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old Cumberland County
girl in a Huntsville
motel. The alleged victim, stated the
warrant filed by Detective Randy Lewallen of the Scott County Sheriff’s
Department, was reported as a missing and endangered child in early February by
Cumberland County authorities, who believed the teen may be in Scott
County. On February 17, 2014, local
authorities located the girl and returned her to Cumberland County. Upon return, the girl allegedly told
authorities that Pugh forced her to have sex with him at the Grand Vista Hotel
on or about February 10, 2014 or February 11, 2014.
was charged with rape. He is currently being held at the Scott County Jail
under a $150,000 bond.
