Crossville Man Charged with Rape Locally

Huntsville, TN (2014-03-11) A Crossville man has been charged with rape in case involving a runaway juvenile from Cumberland County that was found in a local motel.

Billy Ray Pugh, 48, of Crossville was arrested last week in Cumberland County following a local investigation into allegation he had inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old Cumberland County girl in a Huntsville motel.  The alleged victim, stated the warrant filed by Detective Randy Lewallen of the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, was reported as a missing and endangered child in early February by Cumberland County authorities, who believed the teen may be in Scott County.  On February 17, 2014, local authorities located the girl and returned her to Cumberland County.  Upon return, the girl allegedly told authorities that Pugh forced her to have sex with him at the Grand Vista Hotel in Huntsville on or about February 10, 2014 or February 11, 2014.

Pugh was charged with rape. He is currently being held at the Scott County Jail under a $150,000 bond.
